Biodiversity Heritage Library (BHL) AFRICA TRAINING

20 participants from BHL Africa underwent training on 5th-8th August, 2019 at the Nairobi National Museum. The training was in the use of Metadata Collection and Workflow (Macaw) system and on standards for digitizing biodiversity heritage literature and making them freely available online.
Participants were from various institutions i.e. National Museums of Kenya (NMK), South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI), International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), University of Nairobi (UoN), African Conservation Centre (ACC) and Kenya Fisheries Research Institute (KEFRI).
The training was conducted by Lidia Swart from University of Pretoria, South Africa and Lawrence Monda from National Museums of Kenya, who is also the Technical Director for BHL Africa
