PROCEDURE FOR INDUSTRIAL ATTACHMENT FOR STUDENTS AT THE NATIONAL MUSEUMS OF KENYA - Student presents to Human Resource Department application letter, Curriculum Vitae, copy of ID card and letter from college/ university indicating when they wish to undertake attachment; and in which specific Department/ Station
- HR Department will write to the applicant indicating the status of application
- Upon acceptance, the student will submit the offer of acceptance letter to Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT), Commercial Street, Industrial area; where they shall fill a training form and be issued with a letter nominating them for attachment at NMK
- The student will proceed to an insurance company to obtain cover for the period he/ she will be on attachment/internship
- The student will provide the HR Department with evidence of Insurance Cover, 1 passport photograph, DIT form and letter
- The student will be issued with an ID card by the HR Department.
- The student will present his/her ID at the duty stations and ensure that it is worn at all times during the course of their attachment/ internship.
NB: - No student will be allowed to extend their attachment beyond the dates stipulated in their offer letters without such extension being granted by HR Department. The insurance cover’s purpose is to ensure that NMK is not liable for any accident, injuries sustained/ illness during the course of the student’s attachment.
- All the above guidelines are guided by DIT; which is the statutory body mandated to regulate training in Government Institutions.
